What to wear for Boudoir photo shoot?
You have to like what you choose for your Boudoir session
The most important is to like what you choose! There is no such thing is “will this color / style photograph well?” As long as you love it, it’s the photographer’s job to make it look good on the photos.
But there are also other things to concider. Thus, before I schedule Boudoir photography session with my client I invite her for Studio Consultation. Think colors
White and black are always present, no matter of your body type, or your skin shade. Plus 2 looks in your “sexy color”. If you never wear color other then black, we’ll brain storm and find the color that excites you. Thus, go outside of your comfort zone. Be creative. Because that is exactly the time for it. I will push you out of your comfort zone, and at the same time I will make it supportive and safe.
Lingerie and sexy things
Again, variety is the key. Start with your favorite set of bra and panties. Bra should fit you comfortably. Don’t wear tiny g-strings, or thongs. Because there is absolutely no point (rather be nude). Your underwear should be visible. It should enhance your body. So choose insted something with more coverage, sexy, but visible. Lace and silk are the best.
Next, definetely go for corcet with all the extras: garter, stockings, high heels (the higher, the better). This will be your saultry sexy look. Something that you only wear on special occasions.
For the seductive elegant look choose a silk gown with a split, or a chemis.
Feeling girly and playfull? There is a variety of colors and styles for babydools.
Borrow something from your boyfriend / husband / partner
Boudoir photo shoot is all about empowering yourself. It is about getting a boost of self esteem and confidence in the way you look and feel. It’s a celebration of you.
But sometimes there is someone in you life that you want to surprise with a gift of beautiful, sensual, sexy photos of you. Giving him / her this gift is plenty. But imagine how excited your partner will be seeing you wearing something of his / hers in the photos.
So many options! Is there uniform that your partner usually wears? A tie? Or just a plane white shirt?
Your regular wardrobe that is perfect to wear for Boudoir photo shoot
Beautiful scarf, stylish hat, boots…
That comfy big sweater that you can pull off your shoulders, or a soft cashmere wrap that you can snaggle in to. These are perfect with a pair of black panties and high heels, or boots, or maybe just barefoot.

From all different options of Boudoir photographers out there, choose the one that you connect with. Check their website, read their mission statement, look at their work. Make sure it inspires you. Definitely schedule Studio Consultation to get the feeling of the studio and the photographer. And once you are comfortable book the session and enjoy getting ready experience.
Have trust in your chosen photographer. Because she is there to guide you, and to have your best interest in mind. More over she will gives you tons of instructions, teaches you how to be in front of the camera, and completely run the shoot. Thus, you job is to relax, enjoy, and have fun. Let her create for you, with you.
